So, Kyle and I were talking the other day about the next project. We didn’t get some of the equipment we wanted to before starting it so we hadn’t really done much more than plan it. I guess you can pretty much postpone things indefinitely sometimes. We didn’t want to do that.
My brother (who’s always been one of my biggest fans as well as my golfing buddy)said the biggest problem he had with “an acoustic prologue” was that it was too short. I agree. At the same time, when we were playing with Soapbox, sometimes it would take up to a year AFTER we’d finished recording just to release an album. We didn’t want to do that either.
So, like I was saying, Kyle and I were talking the other day about the next project. We decided it was probably best to start recording it right away. It will be another short project, probably no more than seven tunes; but, definitely a little bit of a longer listen than the prologue. Also this next one’s gonna have some interesting instrumentation. Definitely more mandolin and various percussive acoutriments from Kyle; and, basically, whatever is laying around our houses will probably make its’ way into the mix. Jess is gonna be singing one of her songs as well, a beautiful tune called The One I Love. I’m really looking forward to making it and I hope ya’ll will enjoy the listening as much as we do the making. Peace, hope and love-
