There are no Buffalo in Hawaii

natebuffaloe

So I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything worthwhile; or, really anything at all for that matter. What do you want me to do, apologise or something? Ok fine, I’m sorry. So, with that out of the way, here’s the latest: I just moved myself, my awesome pregnant wife and cute daughter over to the South-East corner of Oahu, Hawaii. Now, before everyone gets all crazy and starts saying things like, “lucky!” in a Nopolean Dynamite voice, just remember that Hawaii is a little tiny chain of Islands out in the middle of the South Pacific. I live on a small rock in the middle of the ocean. To be honest, I’m really trying hard not to think about it. Like the fact that I can’t get into my mini van and drive to see a Buffalo. Not that I’m really into Buffalo, I just think they’re neat. No, it’s the principle of the thing really. Whereas before, if I really wanted to, I could simply go for a drive to see me some Buffalo. Now, I’d have to fly (or I guess floating is an option as well). This is one of the things that’s really been bugging me about the move. What are some of your thoughts? Do you like Buffalo?

i like that my family is a drive away instead of a plane ride away… but i could also never live on an island, no matter where it was! try island hopping, maybe that will help your need to move 🙂

  2. Yeah, maybe I’ll try that… or just hopping in general.

  3. We’re on a big rock in the middle of the ocean too… ours just happens to be bigger than yours. That being said, I would have no problem living on a much smaller rock than the one we’re on… LUCKY!!!

  4. Yeah, but you can hop into your mini van and drive to see Buffalo on your big rock.

Ha ha, this totally cracked me up. I happen to LOVE buffalos, no joke. Favorite animal. Ever. I’d be upset if I couldn’t see them whenever I wanted as well.

As for your dwelling in Hawaii, I know how hard it is for you. When I heard the news, I thought “What?!?! Emmani’s going to live on an…island???” But live it up and enjoy it, because I’m sure there are many that would trade places with you. 🙂 Give your wife a big hug from me.

  6. maybe I should just send you a buffalo…

  7. glad you made it out here, and yes, after a while, you probably won’t even think about how this is a tiny chain of islands. (pssst, did you know that the archipelago is actually is longer than tiny?)
The 132 islands, reefs and shoals of the State of Hawaii extend for over 1500 miles across the North Pacific Ocean. wow! crazy, eh?

well, in any case, hope to meet your daughter and beautiful wife someday. keep writing and playing. i will too!

    aloha,
    jamie
